The Department of Language Teaching holds a year-round exam in Bulgarian language for foreigners who obtain a certificate of proficiency in Bulgarian for levels A, B and C. The exam can be taken by anyone who speaks the language at the appropriate level. The exam is conducted by a committee and consists of 2 parts: written and oral. After successfully passing the exam, the candidate receives a certificate for the respective level.

The fee for taking an exam in the Bulgarian language for foreigners is 300 euros (confirmed at Academic Council No. 13/14.11.2022).

The fee for issuing a certificate is 24 BGN.
The required fees can be paid by bank transfer or at the cash desk of Veliko Turnovo University "St. St. Cyril and Methodius", "T. Turnovski" No. 2, Rectorate.
The Bulgarian language exam for foreigners is held in person or, if need be, online using the examination platform MS Teams.
