The School of Language Teaching is a core unit of St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo for organizing and conducting training in various foreign languages and in Bulgarian as a foreign language. The major goal of the Department is to improve the skills of students, lecturers and employees of the University of Veliko Tarnovo for effective communication without cultural and language barriers.
The main activities of the School of Language Teaching are the following:

> foreign language training of undergraduate students;

> training of foreign students in international exchange programmes;

> participation in international projects related to foreign language training;

> foreign language courses for students and lecturers at the University of Veliko Tarnovo and external persons;

> organizing and conducting the annual International Summer Seminar on Bulgarian Language and Culture;

> conducting examinations and issuing certificates of foreign language proficiency in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The foreign language training at the School of Language Teaching is consistent with the latest trends in modern linguodidactology, as well as with the good practices in the application of modern digital technologies and electronic resources.
